Lestingdale VS

Loki was bred by Onno de Vries in the Netherlands. He was selected to attend the first rounds on the KWPN licensing before being purchased by Ad Valk Dressage. He then came to England shortly after he was backed as a rising 4yo.

Loki has the most wonderful, kind temperament along with excellent conformation and eye-catching movement. He is exceptionally well bred, sired by non-other than the famous FEI 7-year-old World Champion, Glamourdale. Often described as the ‘British Glamourdale’ Loki boasts a powerful, uphill canter, an expressive trot with good scope and an active, clear walk.

Glamourdale is by the ‘producer of champions’, Lord Leatherdale. As a young horse he was awarded the ultimate 10 for his canter at the World Cup in Ermelo. Ridden by the talented young rider Lottie Fry, he has successfully competed at Grand Prix level internationally with scores over 80%.

Loki’s dam C’est Fury VS is an Elite, Prok mare by Sorento, the son of influential stallion, Sandro Hit. Sorento is a long lined expressive stallion that in 2011 was awarded horse of the year in Oldenburg where he then went on to reach Grand Prix. C’est Fury has competed successfully herself up to Z2 level in Holland as well as producing many offspring. Two of which are also now competing at Z2 level.

Loki is proving to be very trainable and willing under saddle. In just a few outings he was crowned Nexgen 4yo Young Horse Champion at Hickstead with a score of 7.96. In the same year he also qualified for the Shearwater Young Horse final with a score of 8.4. Since then, he has consistently achieved scores up to 76% at Novice and Elementary. In 2022 he was crowned Elementary Freestyle regional champion and came 8^th at the National Championship final.

Currently in training with Olympian Gareth Hughes, Loki is working at medium level and showing huge ability for the half passes, flying changes and half steps.  His willingness to please, calm nature and super work ethic makes him a pleasure to ride and produce. Loki also enjoys hacking, time out in the field and lots of attention, so much so, it is impossible to walk past his stable without stopping for a cuddle.

As well as making his competition debut in 2020 Loki also had a successful first season at stud, covering 28 mares in his year, proving to be very fertile.

His first crop of foals in 2021 did not disappoint. All foals that were presented at the British Breeding Futurity were awarded high Gold Premiums. Heartbreaker San Francisco & Heartbreaker Santa Clara were both graded with the AES where they also achieved gold premiums with scores of 8.75 & 8.2. Lestingdale appears to pass on his kind temperament, laid back nature and 3 good paces to his offspring. His youngstock have been very correct in conformation and are all very striking with the look at me factor.

Due to now being in competition training with Gareth, Loki is only available for frozen semen only.
